Club Hut Bookings
The new Club Hut, known as the "Martin Brookman" hut is located near the village of Braithwaite two miles west of Keswick. It has a fully stocked modern kitchen with good cooking facilities and lounge area. There are two bedrooms each containing 4 bunks with comfortable modern mattresses. Lighting is by solar electric, cooking by gas and water from the mains. A modern wood burning stove provides heating.
Toilet and shower facilities are in the annexe building. The new hut is named after our previous landlord and the club is grateful for the support of the Brookman family during the rebuilding after the loss of the previous "David Imrie " hut.
Hut fees are £5 per night per member and £8 per night for guests. The hut door is opened by a four digit code available from the Hut Warden or Committee member.
The hut is available for use by members at any time without booking but large groups are advised to contact the Hut Warden. Camping is available but normal hut fees must be paid. Members and Meet Coordinators are asked to make sure that all fees are paid promptly to the Club Treasurer. This applies to both officially publicised Club meets and Members own informal trips.
Hut details are on the British Mountaineering Council (BMC() hut list and a maximum of 8 places are available for booking by members and clubs belonging to the BMC. Pub and grocery shop facilities are close by.
News of any further developments will be published on our news page or in the newsletter.
